“Intricate Detail” Polymer Clay Texture Roller. Perfect for fantastic detailed patterns! Not as deep as the Deep Impression Rollers, but much more detailed! Great for use with Mica Powder and Alcohol ink Techniques!

Small Rollers (2.75”) are best suited for smaller jewelry sets. XL Rollers (4”) are slightly deeper, and the pattern is slightly bigger. *New* Jumbo (6") are expanded with an even larger and deeper pattern! Debossing pushes the main design into the clay, while Embossing leaves the main design raised in the clay. For Mokume Gane I tend to like the effect of the Debossed in the slab, but the Embossed tends to make great shavings to place on a solid-colored sheet for additional pieces!

A few quick tips for using texture rollers on Polymer clay 1 Use well conditioned clay that is not sticky. If it is sticky be sure to leach it before using. 2 Burnish clay onto a slick surface such as tile or glass so it holds in place. 3 Be sure to use some sort of release agent such as corn starch or water. I keep a small bottle of water handy and spritz the roller then roll it between my palms to be sure if even coverage and to prevent pooling. 4 Start roller in slightly from the edge to minimize the tendency for the clay to follow the roller. Also be sure to work from a clean edge. Especially in Mokume Gane with inclusions a tattered edge full of foil likes to catch in the roller so be aware! 5 I use firm pressure and small movements to roll across the clay for deep impression, kinda creeping the roller 1/4 turn at a time with the tips of my fingers. For less deep impression I use the flat of my palm and roll slowly but fully across the clay. 6 Release pressure before the final edge. Edges seem to be the most likely place for clay to catch in the roller. 7 nozzle cleaning needles seem to be the best defense for clay that does get caught in the rollers. 8 Enjoy the process!!!
